Ted Luckett

Mr. Ted Luckett started on Monday, September 9, 2024, as our new Catholic Schools Faith Formation Coordinator for our ACRCC Family of Parishes. Ted shares with us, “I believe this unique model (ACRCC’s Catholic Education approach) will be successful and set our ACRCC schools apart.” Ted has lived in our area for the past 17 years after moving here from his hometown of Louisville, KY where he attended Catholic elementary and middle schools and then transitioned to public high school. He was shaped by the Catholic faith in his childhood home; his dad was a deacon and his mom, a Catholic convert.

He began his college career at D’Youville as a pre-novice with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. He met his wife, Sarah, and discerned a vocation to marriage. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education and a Master of Science from Niagara University in Special Education. Ted and his wife, Sarah, have four children: 16-year-old twin daughters, a 12-year-old daughter, and a 3-year-old son.

Ted comes to our Family from St. Greg’s in Williamsville where he served as the Principal following his time as Assistant Principal. He has previously served as an Assistant Principal and Social Studies Teacher at Gateway Longview. In our family of parishes, Ted will be involved at all grade levels (preschool-grade 8) at St. Mary School and Nativity of Mary School. He will be a resource for teachers: crafting lessons with them, teaching in classrooms, and providing Catholic professional development.  Ted will also lead both student and staff retreats.

Ted was drawn to this position because it offers him the opportunity to focus on our Catholic faith while working in a school environment. He wants us to know, “My goal is to build up our church by helping our young people to become disciples of Christ.” Christina Egleston said about the choice to invite Ted to join the ACRCC Catholic Education team “He brings a strong educational background as well as many gifts and talents to our Formation team.”
